Mount Olive welcomes all the baptized to the Sacrament of the Altar
The sacrament is the center of our weekly Eucharist and the gift of God’s grace that sustains us. In bread and wine, Christ offers us forgiveness, life and salvation. Lutherans believe that Christ is truly present in this meal.
As Holy Baptism is the beginning of our journey of faith, Holy Communion is the spiritual food and drink that sustains our journey, strengthens us when we struggle and fills us with God’s love, the love that gives us life.
First Communion
Mount Olive has no formal rite of First Communion. Rather, parents, in consultation with the pastor, decide when a child should begin receiving the sacrament. It’s common to see toddlers communing at Mount Olive.
